New Orleans is getting some medical help from a neighboring parish. Saint Charles Community Health Center has rolled a mobile medical unit into town for a few weeks. Patients says it's a convenient way to get basic and emergency medical services. They have limited options because many hopsitals are still closed and doctors have relocated after Katrina. Many patients say the service is a benefit. "I was in the 70122 area in Gentilly. I relocated with my daughter. She's a few blocks away. So, I was able to walk here," said Sandra Monroe, he was getting a tetanus shot att eh mobile van. "The need was so great that it reslly was important for us to move out of our normal boundaries to provide free care to everyone that needs it," said James Comeaux of St. Charles Community Health Center. The van will be at the Jewish Community Center on St. Charles Ave. Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 am to 3 pm.; and, at St. Dominic's Church in Lakeview on Fridays from 10 am to 3 pm. A $200,000 United Way grant helped fund the van.
